Matt Risher is just a sophomore at Marvin Ridge High School, but that did not stop him from winning the 2007 Union County Scoring Title. The Marvin Ridge forward finished the season with 19 goals and 7 assists for a total of 45 pts, 1 pt clear of his nearest scoring rivals Hugo Mendoza of Monroe and Drew Gallowitch of Sun Valley. Risher came up big when it mattered most for the Mavericks (14-6, 12-4 South Piedmont Conference) scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over Sun Valley and tallying twice in an 8-0 rout over Anson to give Marvin Ridge a 3A state playoff birth. "The technical training I have received from Creative Player has given me the ability to do what ever I want on the soccer field. I have the confidence to challenge players 1v1 and beat them. Creative Player taught me how to feel comfortable with the ball attacking players, scoring goals, and assisting my teammates." Matt Risher, winner of 2007 Union County Scoring Title
